In July, we had Scarlett's 15-month checkup and all is well. She remains in the 90th percentile for height and is simply growing like a weed. Her lightish-curly hair has taken over her head and she's more vocal than ever. No real words just yet, but she can answer simple questions and point out certain things. The good news I was hoping to have this month about my job didn't materialize in June. There was one job posting but it was for a project management position that I'm not terribly interested in but with the manager guy on PTO, I can't ask for details. May was a good month. The weather is beginning to really transition into summer-like weather and all the trees have their leaves. The sun stays up past 9 PM now and the sunny days are that much more comforting. It's really lifted my mood concerning my job ( Read more... )

Scarlett continues to thrive as she heads towards her first birthday coming up in mid-March. Nicole has made it to the 16-week mark! Her pregnancy is going well and after a four-week lull in appointments, the 16-week check-in went great. In the wake of our miscarriage in May, my relationship with Nicole was strained for a while. Obviously we were both beside ourselves mourning the unexpected and sudden loss of a wanted pregnancy. Nicole has had one of her baby teeth into her adulthood and to today. It's been wedged in between two others while the adult tooth that should have dropped down stayed up in her jaw her entire adult life. Dentists weren't concerned and it stayed solid... January was our first real month in our new house where we weren't wall-to-wall renovating 24/7. In February, the weight of responsibility of the house got to us and caused despair. Things got better in March as rooms took shape including my very own home office.
